The creative process begins with destruction. Only when you are in a surrendered position can the Unmanifest express Itself clearly through you.

Creativity doesn’t need our help.  In those moments when the creative impulse is moving through us we know at some level that something more vast, more intelligent than us is doing its work.  When we reflect upon those moments it is very easy to begin to set up our own agendas.  We look back and think that we can recreate those moments.  We might think we can profit from them, gain notoriety, or escape the rawness of life.  We start to think we can direct the creative impulse.  This is a mistake.  It is a harmless mistake but it is a mistake nonetheless.

The Source of creativity is a raging inferno where our agendas and desire for comfort are incinerated.

Turn toward that Source.  Let go.  Let it burn you up.   Let it show you what will rise from your own ashes.  You cannot know what will arise,  but this is not a problem.  The moment you surrender, a force whose power is far beyond yours will be moving you.  How will you know when you are in a surrendered state?  The process will overtake you.  There will be no doubt that a sublime force is at work.  Things, events will start to rearrange themselves around you.  Feelings and sensations will start to rearrange themselves within you.  Don’t make a single thought about the outcome of this process, just stay right inside the Fire.  Be in awe of the Intelligence that moves all of Life.  Watch it push you aside and use your body and your mind to do its bidding.  On your knees, or even in the dirt, watch as a new reality is forged.  Not my reality, not your reality.  Something new.  Something divine and mysterious.

Have you figured it out yet?

Your Life is the work of art.

But you are not the artist.

At least not in any way that you can think about yourself.
